DARREN H.S. TAN
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Darren H. S. Tan obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at UC San Diego, where he focused on developing & commercializing all solid-state batteries for grid energy storage applications. He has been developing UNIGRID’s technology since 2017.

ERIK A. WU
Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Erik Wu obtained his Ph.D. in NanoEngineering from UC San Diego’s, where his research focused on the synthesis, characterization, and testing of battery materials for longer-lasting all-solid-state batteries. He has 9 years of experience in clean energy technologies.

Technical Advisor

Dr. Zheng Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of NanoEngineering at UC San Diego. He has 10 years of experience in global grid storage markets and is an expert in sustainable battery technologies. He leads commercial and customer development through industrial connections in the Asian markets.

YING SHIRLEY MENG
Technical Advisor

Dr. Y. Shirley Meng is the Zable Endowed Chair Professor in Energy Technologies, is the founding Director of Sustainable Power and Energy Center, and is currently the director of the Institute for Materials Discovery and Design at UC San Diego. She provides scientific expertise for UNIGRID’s product development.
